First Transnational Meeting

Florence, Italy The first project Transnational Meeting took place in Florence, with the active participation of all Italian and foreign partners in order to better plan future activities. At the work tables there were guided visits to Palazzo Pitti and the Giardino di Boboli to some of the places that will host the practical activities, such as the LAO – Le Arti Orafe Jewellery School, and the Basilica of S. “Paese dei Barbagianni” Workshop

Florence, Italy Workshops of the Barbagianni Laboratory continues at the Giardino dell’Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella. The participants involved in the project attended a lesson on candelabrum pruning of pear and apple trees, a technique widely used in the past to grow espalier fruits close to walls or to create ornamental production fences with which to divide vegetable gardens and gardens. Thanks to the fundamental support and collaboration of the ancient Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella , to the Associazione Amici delle Ville e dei Giardini medicei and to workshop’s staff.

“Paese dei Barbagianni” Workshop

Florence, Italy The second meeting of the Paese dei Barbagianni workshop took place in the evocative settings of the Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella. Therefore, the group of participants affected by Down Syndrome was involved by operators specialized in a lesson on autumn and winter crops for the seasonal jobs that will be carried out during the next meetings in the garden. At the end of the lesson an interesting visit was held to the rooms of the structure to explain the importance of plants and flowers in the pharmacopoeia.
